YOLANDE SMITH – BIOGRAPHY
Yolande is an Attorney and Conveyancer and the Sole Director of Yolande Smith Incorporated.
She joined the legal field later in life and is no stranger to the motto: “hard work pays off!”
She holds a B.Com (law) and B.Com Honours degree (Industrial Relations) from the then University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University). After graduating, she joined ABSA Trust where she administered deceased estates. During this time, she obtained her AIPSA (Association of Insolvency Practitioners South Africa) diploma in Insolvency Law and Practice from the University of Pretoria.
She commenced her career in the Property Management sector, first for a local firm and then nationally, managing Telkom SA’s rental property portfolio along the South African coast. She obtained her LLB degree through the University of South Africa by studying part time in the evenings and on weekends during this period.
Yolande attended the School for Legal Practice Night School and was recognised academically, finishing amongst the top three students in her class. In addition, she was recognised for her leadership abilities, receiving a certificate for outstanding performance in leadership and top overall performance in several of the course modules.
She also completed her Conveyancing qualification during this time.
Yolande joined Greyvensteins Incorporated in 2017 and was appointed as director and shareholder two years later. She headed up the Commercial Property Finance department and attended to property transfers and bonds as part of commercial transactions such as the sale of letting enterprises or businesses as a going concern. She was also closely involved in many residential transfers. Her attention to detail, friendly nature and strong belief in educating clients with regard to the latest conveyancing trends, are characteristics which have established her excellent reputation as a Conveyancer amongst clients, colleagues and peers.
Yolande has a passion for people and the law. Her exceptional work ethic and old school values ensures that her clients are always served with integrity, openness and honesty. She is an avid reader and lifelong learner. You are never too old to learn!
In her downtime, Yolande believes in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and making time for family and friends. She particularly enjoys a good glass of Pinotage, camping and swimming with her two young sons.
